The village of Trefriw is located in the Conwy Valley, in the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of the Carneddau Mountain Range.

In the garden, there is a raised patio with a table and chairs to either dine outdoors or just relax with a glass of wine whilst watching the sheep graze in the fields opposite.

This is an ideal location from which to explore the many attractions of North Wales, including Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia, the North Wales Coast and Anglesey. The lakes of Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant lie between the mountains above the village.

In Trefriw itself there is a working Woollen Mill where you can see cloth being made, and browse the large mill shop. Outside the village you can visit Trefriw Wells Spa which has been a spa since Roman Times.

The area has many historical attractions including the walled town of Conwy with its fine castle which is just down the valley. There are also other castles to be visited at Caernarfon, Dolwyddelan and Harlech.

Wales is famous for its steam railways, and the Ffestiniog Railway, Welsh Highland Railway, Snowdon Mountain Railway and Llangollen Railway are all within easy reach.

Activities to be enjoyed include walking and climbing in Snowdonia and mountain biking on the Marin Trail a couple of miles down the road and the Penmachno Trail about 6 miles away (cycle storage is available in the garden shed at the cottage).

There are numerous walks from the cottage including the 'Trefriw Trails', a set of walks ranging from an all-abilities walk up to more invigorating walks to Llyn Cowlyd and beyond. For an evening stroll, there are pathways on the cobs (embankments) through the fields opposite the house. The famous high peaks of Snowdonia are nearby, and you can walk up onto the Carneddau directly from the cottage.

There are numerous local golf courses including courses in Betws-y-Coed, Llandudno and Conwy. Birdwatchers can visit the local RSPB reserve at Conwy.

There are plenty of places to eat in Trefriw, and there are shops in the village where you can buy good quality local produce. The local market town of Llanrwst is just 2 miles away, and Llandudno down the valley on the coast has a wide range of famous name shopping including Tesco, Asda, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer.
